Do I really need this?

How we review

We start with the problem, not the product.

Every article states its basis: our own test, editorial research or a comparison. We use the word test only when we had the product and documented the process.

Four questions before a verdict

  1. What problem should the product solve?
  2. How well does it fit everyday life? Cleaning, storage and ongoing costs count.
  3. Is there already a simpler solution?
  4. Who benefits from buying it — and who does not?

Three possible answers

Yes: it does the job without needless effort. Only if …: it makes sense under conditions we explain. No: cost, work or limitations outweigh the benefit.

Research remains research

We identify manufacturers’ claims and link important sources. A researched article does not pretend to be first-hand experience. We check price and availability again before linking a retailer.
